City of Elkhart IN - Task Force Team

Good Day, my name is Tim Henke. For over 30 years, I have been involved with the National Day of Prayer and other prayer events. I fully recognize our need to pray and that we are dependent on Almighty God in order to see change, help and healing in our land. Over the last 30 years much has changed and unfortunately, not for the better. The remedy is, and has always been, prayer. II Chronicles 7:14 must be followed as the recipe for returning to God, revival and reformation. "IF my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."  Amen.

We, as the Church, the children of God, must lead the charge in prayer. If we don’t do it, who will? We must come together under the banner of Jesus Christ to pray, cry out, and intercede on behalf of our great nation. The church has allowed the culture to influence the church instead of the church influencing the culture. That is why we are in the mess we are today. We have traded prayer for entertainment and God’s power for leisure and pleasure. We must cry out for God’s mercy and grace upon this land and it starts with the church.

Will you join me in praying for our community, our city, and our churches to step up, stand up and pray publicly as a witness to our way back? We desire to see the lost found, the broken mended, the hopeless find hope, and the sick find healing through the power of prayer. Don’t be a sideline saint! Our time is now, and this is the church's Esther moment. In Germany during the 1930s, the church was silent, and the Holocaust happened. All it takes for evil to triumph, is for godly men and women to do nothing. To me, doing nothing is not an option. Jesus died for me, the least I can do is LIVE for Him! Please join me in downtown Elkhart, and together, let’s lead our city, region, state and nation back to God.
